Launch of Renewable Readiness Assessment Report

Hon’ble Tengye Lyonpo Loknath Sharma launched the Renewables Readiness Assessment Report that reflects comprehensive evaluation and conditions for the deployment of alternative renewable energy resources and energy efficiency initiatives in the country on December 16, 2019.


The report outlines four key areas for the promotion of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures such as the need to strengthen existing policy and regulatory framework, livelihood enhancement through renewable energy deployment, end-use sector interventions and capacity building, skills enhancement and awareness programs. In addition, it also highlights a comprehensive assessment of the on-ground situation including the existing environment for the renewable energy and energy efficiency promotion and the potential for the growth of the renewable energy market in the country.

The report is prepared by the Department of Renewable Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency.
