The Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of India held Bhutan-India Bilateral Meeting on Trade and Transit, at Commerce Secretary Level from 17-18 May 2018, in Thimphu.
The Indian delegation was led by H.E. Ms. Rita Teaotia, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and Bhutanese delegation was led by Dasho Yeshi Wangdi, Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan.
The high-level meeting reviewed the decisions taken during the last Bilateral Meeting on Trade and Transit held from 18-19 January, 2017 in New Delhi and discussed on current trade and transit issues for mutual benefit of both the countries. The fruitful outcome of the meeting would further enhance Bhutan’s bilateral trade with India and facilitate trade with third countries.
Bilateral trade between the two countries has grown steadily over the years with total trade accounting for Nu. 85.59 Billion in 2017.
