PPP Workshop for Government and Private Sector Stakeholders

 

The Royal Government with support of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) is conducting a two day workshop on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Thimphu on 19 to 20 August, 2014.


The workshop aims to build capacity of the Government and private sector stakeholders in understanding and implementation of the PPP initiative to develop infrastructure and provide other public services in the country.

Consultation Workshop to discuss Draft Road map for DHMS Modernization

 

The Department of Hydro Met Services(DHMS) in collaboration with the World Bank has conducted a one-day consulatative workshop on modernizing weather, water and climate sevices, A Road Map for Bhutan at Taj Hotel, Thimphu on 12th August 2014. Due to Bhutan's location, climate and topography, it is highly prone to wide range of Hydrometeorological disasters including Glacial Lake Outburst Floods(GLOFs), Landslide dam outburst Floods(LODFs), cloudbursts, windstorms, and river erosions. Update No.1 on Heavy Monsoon Rain Forecast as of 4:30 PM, 14th August 2014

 

´╗┐´╗┐´╗┐According to the forecast updates, the prevailing weather is expected to continue for another 24 hours  with heavy rainfall expected in Southern, Eastern and Central Bhutan and moderate rainfall expected in Western and rest of Bhutan during next 24 hours.

The Low Pressure Trough still lies near Bhutan.

If there are any changes in the forecast, updates will be issued.
